Winter Recap / Spring Forward

After a very busy winter of concerts and travels across the US (see highlights below), the Anderson & Roe Piano Duo will return to its proverbial roots, with performances in the duo's "birthplace" of New York City and also in Hartford (the midway point between Elizabeth and Greg's former residences in Northampton and New Haven, respectively). They will perform in the Hartford Symphony Orchestra's subscription series May 9-12, with Elizabeth featured in Gershwin's classic Jazz Age paean to New York, Rhapsody in Blue. The following week, the A&R Duo will appear in a special event for the Young Patrons of Lincoln Center.

Jazz in Miami

Tomorrow night (Friday, January 11 at 8:30 PM) Elizabeth appears at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, alongside legends of the jazz world, including Bobby Mcferrin, Chick Corea, Shelly Berg, Terence Blanchard, Dave Brusin, and Mark O'Connor, in a program celebrating the intersection between jazz and classical music. As a representative of the "classical" genre (and the sole female soloist), Elizabeth will be featured in Shelly Berg's sweeping suite for classical/jazz piano and orchestra, Incandescent, Iridescent, Effervescent; a duet of Gershwin's timeless classic, The Man I Love; a classical/jazz version of CPE Bach's Solfeggietto; and a rousing finale based on Deodato's funky reworking of Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra, with all the artists, supported by the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, sharing the stage.

This special event is part of the 32nd annual YoungArts Week, and it is the first-ever collaboration among four major Miami arts institutions: the Adrienne Arsht Center, the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, Larry Rosen's Jazz Roots, and the National YoungArts Foundation (of which Elizabeth is an alum, as a winner of the 2000 YoungArts Week auditions). Music lovers in Miami: this will be a spectacular show ... don't miss it!
